What's Happening in the Garden?

The garden is awake and with all the rain we've been having is growing at an alarming rate! Our Second and Third graders have been busily preparing plants for our pizza edible garden and will be planting soon. The pollinator garden looks amazing and we have added a few more perennials to fill in some empty spots. We are in need of people to come and help take care of the garden this summer! If you are interested in signing up to help contact Laura Micco at Laura.Micco@imagineschools.com.

This is what the garden looks like after planting day on May 15th. One side is full of native pollinator perennials and shrubs. The other side is a test garden where students planted potatoes in container gardens, strawberry patches and the Three Sisters in mounds.

Three Sisters Garden is Growing!

The three sister vegetable garden is growing fast! Come to the garden to see how the corn, squash and beans are growing together. It is the perfect example of a symbiotic relationship! The beans are slowly wrapping around the corn and the squash is providing shade and protection to the roots of both the bean and corn plants. The squash plants have also  started to flower so very soon we will have delicious yellow squash to munch on.
